I tend to use noticing and awareness interchangeably.   However, if I was asked to make a distinction I might say that notice has a feeling of giving pause and getting still, a witnessing aspect.   Where awareness has an active, felt quality to it.  As in noticing your thoughts versus being aware of the feeling of tightness in your shoulders.
